Venus Retrograde update: Venus in Pisces

The Venus Retrograde is a six week long affair. Currently, it is in the sign of Pisces, which it entered upon April 2nd. While not an April fool’s prank, the latter half of the retrograde may prove a bit tricky as its will feel very different in nature  from the first half of the transit.

Pisces represent the powers of faith and belief. The dreamers of the Zodiac, Pisces seeks the union of people and worlds together. Governed by Neptune, the force for healing and imagination, Pisces are often the most mystical of the signs, guided by more often by intuitive senses than rational thought.  At their best they can be empathetic, wise and caring. At their worst, they can scattered, escapist or emotional martyrs.
Venus tends to do well in Pisces; in ancient astrology Venus was believe to be the ruling planet for Pisces. Venus’ harmonious, affectionate, sympathetic nature is very compatible with the energies of the sign. What you must keep in mind, however, is that retrogrades tend to changes how planets normally function. The mutual, other oriented aspect of Venus is reversed, becoming more about self directed, self focused and self regard.  With those elements added to the transit, it is a time for a kind of intimate scrutiny, examining oneself in a way that might be somewhat uncomfortable for someone not a Pisces.

Re-examining your most cherished beliefs and dreams will play an important part of the latter portion of the Retrograde. Who you do you care about and why? Is it a healthy attraction or something wholly unrealistic? Are you working to solve someone else’s problems or are you merely escaping your own? Venus in Pisces retrograde will promote self healing, personal care and an honest accounting of how you feel, especially with regards to your most important relationships. The next two weeks (the Transit ends on April 15th 6:18am EDT/ 3:18am PDT) maybe very emotional so find ways to remain grounded.

Remember, Retrogrades are times to address the problems but not to work on them. The real work comes once the retrograde is over. And, given that April is month of Retrogrades (Saturn on the 6th and Mercury on the 9th). You’ll need to be very patient with any issue that presents itself at this time. The good news with Venus’ Retrograde is that it is gentler than other planetary transits
