The week following Easter Sunday will produce a powerful
configuration of planets. The
conjunctions of the personal planets (Sun, Mercury in Aries and Mars in
Capricorn) One Social Planet (Saturn and) and one Outer Planet (Pluto in
Capricorn) may make for a challenging month. Currently, we are engaged in Mercury
Retrograde in the sign of Aries. Couple it with the Sun and Uranus, both in
Aries and the first week of April promises to be one wild ride. (For more info
about the retrograde read my article Round and Round)
Planets that are relatively close to with another tend to
blend their energies together and, depending upon the nature, make for an easier
or harder transit. Known as an Orb, anytime planets are within 8°
degrees each other, while not conjunction, still have effect upon one
another. In classic Astrology, planets
were described as having natures that inclined towards positive or negative
aspects. Those aspects were described as being Benefic (beneficial) or Malefic
(detrimental). For example, Jupiter and Venus are classified as Benefic and
Pluto and Saturn classified as Malefic.
To better help understand
which transits will be easier or harder, let’s use these terms. Uranus (Malefic),
tends to produces conditions of
instability and struggle during its transits. It will, at this time, push you
out of your comfort zones and shake up that which has grown staid and stale in
your routines. Uranus’ malefic influence
may aggravate and energize your thinking (Mercury) and Consciousness (Sun),
with passionate, new ideas and direction. While this may be positive to some extent,
the only caveat is that you should find a way to document and preserve this new
information and wait until after the Retrograde concludes on April 15 to
initiate such ideas
Speaking of Uranus, its occupation of the same area(House)
as the conjunction of Mercury and the Sun in Aries may make for a troublesome
week. Add to that Mars and Saturn in Capricorn
(both Malefic, producing aspect known as square) and you’ll need patience,
diligence and a measure of calm at this time.
Also, at this time, Venus (Benefic) has entered the sign of
Taurus, a sign of its Rulership.
A Rulership,
in Astrology, is a harmonious alignment a planet and sign of a similar nature. This Rulership strengthens the planets affect upon
us, giving us greater awareness of its presence. While Taurus is a much better
placement for Venus than Aries, the Orb of Uranus may add an edge of agitation to
your relationships and emotional interactions for the next few days. On the other
hand, the benefit of Venus’s Orb is that in its serene, compassionate energy will
ease the aggressive, abrasive forces of Uranus in wherever Aries lies in your
Natal chart.
With Mars, Saturn and Pluto all occupying Capricorn (All Malefic)
, much of the month of April may be a time of conflict, change and growth. With
these intense, Karmic forces close together, the potential to overextend and
overexert oneself is great. You should endeavor to focus on long range goals
and avoid seeking swift, easy resolutions to problems. Besides, the retrograde
may delay your actions, so you are encouraged to take your time. Strive to work
with the Venus in Taurus’ energy where you can, staying grounded and focused
upon the value of the people, places and things.
Neptune is also in the sign of its Rulership, Pisces, giving
it a stronger effect. With Neptune in
this position, at this time heal old hurts, pursuit or rekindle past dreams and
endeavors that reaffirm your hopes and beliefs. Neptune will enhance emotional
sensitivities, so depending on where Pisces is in your chart, work to remain
objective and detached in the face of such matters.
Jupiter is currently retrograde in Scorpio. It may narrow
your perspective, not allowing you to see the larger dimension of your desires.
In light of the other Retrograde (Mercury) consider to what extent you are
willing to go to accomplish said desires. During Planet Jupiter‘s transit through
Scorpio, reevaluate these concerns and how you may best go about fulfilling
them.
The current group of Transits may challenge and push you at
time to your limit. Know your limit and employ common sense, patience and
diligence to achieve and ensure success.
